These Tiny Baskets are a fun project to crochet that can hold a single egg or perhaps a treat. A super easy to crochet basket is finished with a beautiful one round flower and a cheery button center.
- Worsted Weight Yarn (Yarn shown is Red Heart Super Saver in “Spring Green” “Turquoise” “Perfect Pink” “Shocking Pink” “Lavender” “Orchid” “Bright Yellow”
- H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Height – 3 inches tall
- Width of base – 2 inches wide
hdc = Half Double Crochet
sc = Single Crochet
sl st = Slip Stitch
Instructions for Basket:
Round 1: Make a Magic Circle with 11 hds in center of the ring. Join with a sl st to close round.
Round 2: Ch 2, work a hdc in first stitch, then 2 hdc in each stitch. Join with a sl st to close round.
Round 3: Ch 2, then work a hdc in each st. Join with a sl st to close round.
Round 4: Repeat round 3.
Round 5: Ch 2, then work a hdc in each st. Before closing round, ch 18 and in the second ch from hook work a sc. Work a sc in each ch across, then work a sl st in stitch at the base to anchor handle. Fasten off.
Instructions for Flower:
Ch 5, join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: Work (3 dc, sl st) into center of ring five times, then join with a slip stitch to close flower and fasten off. Leave tail intact for sewing to basket later.
