An essential tool for sewers and doll-makers. Hemostats are my absolute favorite tool for soft toy and doll making. I use them every single day and I couldn’t make my creations without them.
Although they look like scissors, the blade is not sharp and is not used for cutting, but are actually little clamps that can reach into the tiniest places like doll arms (and even fingers)! Insert the forceps into a doll or toy’s body and grasp the farthest extremity. The forceps can clamp closed so you get a good hold. Then gently pull right side out. Then grasp tiny amounts of stuffing and use your forceps to push the stuffing into the body. Their dull tips are good for pointing corners and pushing.
Once I began using hemostats my doll and toy making took off because I was finally able to turn tiny sewn parts right side out without tearing them and I was able to stuff little fingers and toes! Once you begin using them you’ll agree – hemostats are a valuable making tool you cannot live without!
I got a set of different sizes, some are straight and some are curved on Amazon for a great price. I use them all.
